Have been working for more than 20 years as a writer, editor and researcher in field of international development and global health focusing on rights of women and children,HIV/AIDS,education and trafficking. Advocacy and policy guidance support have been my strengths.
I have worked mostly as a consultant in New York with the UN and NGO community in children's and women's rights and in Washington on staff as managing editor of a bi monthly 24-p publication called Global AIDSLink. My major focus in this job has been on HIV/AIDS from different angles and perspectives. Topics in the publicaton have ranged widely from nutrition, stigma, TB, men and boys,media, marginalized populations including IDUs, MSM and others.
I have participated in advocacy around Global AIDS funding by the US Congress and have monitored NGO legislative recommendations for reauthorization of PEPFAR.
I have worked intensively over the years in the area of child trafficking, producing reports and papers and a major grant proposal now under review to raise awareness and engage the public health communinty in the issue.
I have also published four books and numerous other materials, including articles, reports, speeches, brochures and statements.
