Rebecca Hope is an adolescent physician with 12 years experience indesigning, testing and implementing programs for youth. In her current role with YBank and previously as Technical Lead, with IDEO.org, she applies human-centered design and her public health skill set to develop and scale strategies that improve adolescent health in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. Her belief is that a creative, nimble approach to program design and evaluation, that fully engages the end-user and their communities, can help solve complex social problems. She is currently working with the Rwandan government on their adolescent HIV strategy. In the UK, she has led national evaluation of adolescent HIV services and longitudinal research on the impact of transition on clinical outcomes for adolescents living with HIV. She lectures on pediatrics and adolescent health and design at UC Berkeley, UCL and Imperial College London. Rebecca holds a MPH in Global Health from Harvard T.H Chan School of Public Health, a BSc in International Health and MSc in Pediatrics and Child Health from University College London, and a medical degree from the University of Leeds.
