Kashmir Institute of National Development (KIND) is a not for profit NGO registered under the Voluntary Social Welfare Organizations (Registration and Control) Act, 1982 with the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council. Registration No. 188/2000
v To mobilize the people to develop their own capability and shoulder the responsibility for the sake of their own welfare and progress through protection of their environment, through balanced utilization of natural resources and through active participation in the national development initiatives.
v To register the support of state apparatus and to enlist the people's partnership in creation of a civil society, to promote good governance and to give rise to social justice so as to create an egalitarian society, proud of its roots and ready to develop positive response to the call of duty, here-to-fore undefined.
What We Want To Do?
Ø Strive for education, training and skills development of poor, widows and orphans
Ø Work for the economic independence of the poor and destitute through capacity building.
Ø Enable women to participate in health, hygiene and family welfare activities.
Support national uplift effort for alleviation of poverty.
Ø Enlist national and international cooperation for involvement of the poor in micro-credit, energy issues, environment, natural resources management, water supply and sanitation, and, population welfare
How We Want To Do?
To establish schools, libraries and vocational training centres in every Union Council and provide free services
To institute culture of thrift and saving to generate investments for individual and collective enterprises.
To create awareness among women about the best sanitation and hygiene practices for the better health of the family
To support state initiatives in creation of rural infrastructure for speedy access to all the modern facilities of communication and information exchange
To associate with all national and international agencies working for the protection of environment, economic uplift and social justice.
