The mission of the Open Learning Exchange is to create and support a global network of social benefit organizations, grounded in developing countries and led by highly qualified educational entrepreneurs, who develop and promote highly effective and scalable learning innovations for all of our children.
To fulfill our mission of Quality Universal Basic Education, the Open Learning Exchange (OLE) is doing three things:
1.) Capacity building: In countries that have large populations of marginalized children, we are identifying and supporting educational entrepreneurs and social benefit organizations committedto achieving Quality Universal Basic Education.
2.) Basic e-Learning Library: We are developing a multi-media basic e-learning library system (BeLL) for supporting basic learning in schools and communities, including places without electricity. Thislibrary network can connect students, teachers, parents and communities to national and global libraries. 3.) Global Open Learning Exchange: We are creating a participatory global network of entrepreneurs for education and organizations committed to Quality Universal Basic Education. We bring thesepeople together each year for a General Assembly, enabling them to connect, share, and benefit from these relationships.
