I am committed to teaching teachers in underserved and struggling communities, especially on the African continent, and with a focus on creative uses of even a small amount of technology to help overcome marginalization, geographic challenge, conflict or unequal distribution of resources for whatever reason. I believe with even a limited amount of connectivity to the global community and the vast shared resources available -- much of which is free for the taking -- a top class education can be devised. EdTech Summit Africa (www.edtechsummitafrica.com) was founded in 2013 to help fill the gap in teacher understanding of technology, an annual conference started in South Africa and expanded to Swaziland last year. We hope to reach other countries with this model as we find appropriate and helpful partners. This conference is free for educators and officials interested in hands-on workshops in creative technology solutions.
