My name is Obed MULE, I'm from Kenya, and currently I work for Kenya Wildlife Service (www.kws.go.ke) as a Multimedia Officer, a middle management position. KWS mandate is wildlife protection in and outside the protected areas most of which are in the rural settings, and also enforce related laws and regulations. It undertakes conservation and management of wildlife resources seriously across all protected areas systems in collaboration with stakeholders. KWS' goal is to work with others to conserve, protect and sustainably manage wildlife resources. The community wildlife program of KWS in collaboration with others encourages biodiversity conservation by communities living on land essential to wildlife, such as wildlife corridors and dispersal lands outside parks and reserves. KWS is under the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, and Regional Development Authorities.
I like to learn and unlearn both theoretical and hands-on practice in rural development especially aspects of development communication and media studies in the fast changing media environment as well as be empowered to use the right tools and communication methods in order to address emerging issues around rural development, corporate strategy formulation, and strategic social marketing and communication. I have my journalist trainings in mass communication and media studies in Kenya, Japan, and in India. My interests include travelling, culture, sports, and photography.
I will be so glad to experience extensive hands-on programmes and exposure that development journalism emphasizes. Many thanks.
