In my previous position as the Communications Manager at the Caribbean HIV/AIDS Regional Training Network (CHART) RCU unit in Jamaica, I was responsible for fostering relationships with regional and international partners as well as researching and compiling information for the organizations’ newsletter and e-news publication. This experience introduced me to the dynamics involved in gathering relevant data on HIV/STI’s in the region. In the area of HIV/AIDS, I have successfully conducted stigma and discrimination programmes for youth in my community using both cultural and sporting groups.
My major professional achievements as a Technical Advisor includes being a member of the Advisory Board in the planning of the Inter-American Development Bank’s (IDB) CSR 2010 conference; committee member of the Green Fund Unit executing unit, and creative contributions to two behavior change communications campaigns. The successful merging of the three Ministries provided me with an opportunity to contribute to the strategic planning of the communications unit in the Ministry.
I am committed to designing innovative and participatory communication programmes in the areas of health, environment and gender.
