The Mara has some villages on the periphery of the game reserve. They thrive on Tourist visits to whom they sell the manyatta visits for photography and sell their beadworks. They rarely have clean water and they impact negatively on the environment by not having toilets, proper means of garbage disposal and cutting of firewood for cooking fuel.
Our company has agreed to sponsor a biogas plant in a nearby school and hopefully later provide solar-lighting. Major needs are clean drinking water and lighting. Together with Kenya Airways we are helping schools with classrooms and dormitories.
