Presently I am working for Behavior Change Communication (BCC) for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) program with UNICEF in all the four provinces of the country including FATA, FANA and AJK with Ministry of Health and multi-partners program. • I am working at the forefront for the health of Mothers, Newborn and Children in Pakistan. I have mobilized civil society, religious leaders, community leaders, media, policy makers and parliamentarians and international donor organizations to address this issue. • I have lobbied with provincial programs and stakeholders to form and notify the provincial communication committees and a technical advisory communication committee at federal level to achieve sustainable results on this issue in Pakistan. • I have been on the front line to form and notify the Health Communication Committee on the MNCH issues of the IDPs of NWFP. • I am the active member of Pakistan Health Forum to address the MNCH issues to government ministries, donor agencies and partner NGOs/INGOs and UN agencies. • I have initiated a formative assessment research to evaluate the KAP (Knowledge Attitude and Practice) gap in the MNCH sector of Pakistan. • I have planned and launched the Media campaign to increase the CMWs (Community Midwives: a new cadre inducted by National MNCH Program, Ministry of Health, GoP) acceptance in the communities, awareness about the pregnancy danger signs and child illnesses. • During my job with Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA), Government of Pakistan, I was responsible to execute the overall communication and knowledge management activities of ERRA such as: research and publication, data collection and feeding into policy process, media analysis and broad collaboration with multiple partners and institutions, networking, monitoring and evaluation and preparation of IEC material. • I have worked with Ministry of Population Welfare, GoP, as Social Scientist/Instructor and trained various health service providers on behavior change communication, advocacy and social mobilization regarding Reproductive Health themes as; Reproductive Health Package, Mother Child care, Implications of Rapid Population Growth, Relationship between Islam and Family Planning, Bioethics, Concept of Family Planning and its Needs, Doubts and Misconceptions about Islam Being Against Family Planning, Population Welfare Programs, Family Planning Strategies, Contraceptives and Birth Control etc. • I also had worked with National Institute of Population Welfare (NIPS) Govertment of Pakistan as Project Coordinator for media impact evaluation studies on Reproductive Health Behavior in Pakistan.
