A Media and Communications for Development specialist with 20 years of international experience. I consult on media development, HIV/AIDS, public health, governance and agriculture programmes. My interests and experience include communications strategy design; radio, video and print materials design; project planning and management; training, research, monitoring and evaluation, with a focus on applying behavioural science and research to creative media products. I am a participatory facilitator and trainer, and have authored practical manuals and peer-reviewed academic papers.
I am currently Managing Director of iMedia Associates Ltd, a consulting company that promotes innovative ways of working with rapidly converging media to tackle communication challenges presented by conflict, governance and poverty. In recent years I have carried out numerous mid and end term reviews and evaluations of media and communications projects for clients including DFID, Panos, BBC Media Action and Internews.
I have worked extensively in southern and eastern Africa and was based in Zimbabwe full-time for 10 years from 1999. I now divide my time between Harare and London and conduct short-term assignments in Africa and Asia.
