Being a journalist I am mandated to report news from all aspects of life. But I developed special interest in health issues so much so that I am too much into them. Issues of Aids, infant and maternal mortality, disease burden, portable water problem to local people etc have been my areas of concern.
Experience has proved that as a country we really need to do a lot to improve the health delivery service to the people, those who lack basic life necessities need to be taken into consideration and be assisted.
Government at policy level needs to do a lot to address health problems people face in my country.
Development is a right, right to good education, health facilities, portable water, communication etc, therefore developing countries have a big obligation to meet these rights for the people they govern. In the absence of these services, peoples' rights are violated.
(I hope this is in tune with what is required of this column.)
