The Midlands AIDS Service Organisation (MASO)is the biggest local Non Governmental Organisationi n the land and took up HIV/AIDS issues when they were still a taboo, and characterised by a lot of myths and misconceptions. 18 years since its inception, MASO continues to be lead organisation in HIV/AIDS issues spreading its issues into prevention, care and support and mitigation which are the central pillars of its HIV/AIDS programming. Our modus operandi is well captured through targetting all population groups, infected and affected in a bid to reduce the number of new HIV infection, expand their care and support as well as improve beneficiaries quality of life and livelihood (wellbeing), reduce stigma and discrimination associated with people living with HIV,create a platform for balanced gender relations and open communication about sex and sexuality. This is well captured by the departments and programmes run by MASo namely, Behaviour Change, Education & Gender, Home Based Care, Orphaned & Vulnerable Children and Food Security & Livelihoods. I am currently running the national Behaviour Change Programme on HIv prevention and would like to network and strenghten linkages with other international players in this field so as to bring better programming, share best practices and experiences with other partners in our fight against HIV.
