A lapsed marine biologist turned science communication lecturer and researcher, I believe in the potential of communication to create change.
I work with the scientists, researchers and policy makers of tomorrow to help them tell their stories clearly and compellingly. I examine the interactions between the public, science and the media, and what influences perceptions of sometimes contentious issues. I was one of 76 women selected to participate in the inaugural journey of Homeward Bound - a state of the art leadership and strategy initiative for women in science. I am now the science communcation coordinator for the 2018 Homeward Bound intake, providing those future leaders with science communication skills, training and experiences.
