Role: Education and Fundraising Consultant and Independent Assessor
My present role as a Freelance Education and Fundraising Consultant includes working with the following clients; BBC Children In Need – Independent Assessor undertaking telephone interviews and assessment visits. ECORYS - External Assessor for European Union funding streams. Department of Health – External Assessor for the Volunteering Fund. EACEA -Nominated Expert in the management of the European Union’s Community programmes in the fields of education, audiovisual, culture, youth and citizenship. Independent NVQ assessor of vocational training, undertaking research, development and fundraising within adult and community education with an interest in participatory appraisal techniques and informal communication methods. I have a wealth of experience within the field of community development, vocational training and informal education, which includes developing professional training opportunities for artists and creative professionals. I spent five years delivering Free Form’s Cultural Enterprise Training programme, an accredited training course for artists and creative professionals. This included administering large scale European Social Fund revenue funding. I have also pioneered an accredited work based creative arts training programme for young people excluded from mainstream education and established European wide arts exchange programmes both in the UK and the Czech Republic. My main interest is developing informal participatory communication activities to engage marginalised groups. I am also involved in the international charity Facing History which is based around an online education facility and a UK national charity Forest School Camps where I annually work as a youth leader.
