I am a passionate and enthusiastic individual with more than 5 years of experience working in community development and social programs. My experience relevant to this position has been obtained working in Colombia and Palestine with different NGOs on social programs and community development initiatives. I have experience in designing, implementing and monitoring social programs and have several years of experience in working with ethnic and culturally diverse communities. The projects I was working on, were implemented in territories highly affected by internally displaced people and weakness of government presence.
I have several relevant qualifications, including a Masters in Development Practice that I completed at the University of Queensland and a Postgraduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution that I completed in England. These official qualifications have given me an understanding of concepts and ideas critical for working with people towards positive change and helped me to understand the theoretical ideas underpinning development, and to engage more critically with some of the complexities of community work as it takes place in practice.
