My research interests include development communication; communication and global change and organizational communication. Since 1998, Lydia I have practiced journalism and communication in different media houses and NGOs of national and international classification. I started out in 1998 as a freelance features writer with The Crusader newspaper (folded) and later went into broadcasting as a reporter and news anchor with Radio Simba, (June 1998- August1999). Between September 1999 and 2002, I worked with The New Vision as features writer and later sub-editor. Also practiced public relations practice, starting off at Uganda Red Cross Society (2004-2006) and later to UN OCHA (2006-2007). In 2008, I branched into development communication, starting off as the coordinator for the newly established UNICEF/Makerere Strategic Communication Project, located at the Department of Mass Communication. I'm currently working on a n IRC project which focuses on provision of rural water services. I continue to work as a communication practitioner on voluntary and consultancy basis with several development organizations in Uganda.
