My name is Luchulumanco Nanto and I am 21 years old. I am currently a third year ND Accountancy student at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) Cape Town campus. I am a visionary leader that is an orator and has shown strong sense of governance. I have worked with numerous NGO’s and NPO’s to initiate and launch community developmental programs.
I am a young energetic man who can work individually and within a group and is also self-motivated. I am eager to learn and like challenges. I give my best for the sake of the problem at hand and can also work under pressure. I always strive to meet the target and deadlines set by my superiors. I always portray some leadership skills while working with my colleges.
I regularly take part in community service and charity events. I believe this has given me a good work ethic of interacting with different kinds of people and to work well within a team. I believe this has allowed me to develop strong communication, management and organizational skills. The study field I’m in has also equipped me with numeracy skills.
I strongly believe that I am a member of the community before I am a student. I also believe that community development is about active involvement of people in the issues which affect their lives. It is a process based on the sharing of power, skills, knowledge and experience. It seeks to enable individuals and communities to grow according to their own needs and priorities and grows at their own pace.
It is of vital importance that all institutions of learning of Higher Education to organize students to play a meaningful role in the transformation of South African society.
I believe in tackling crime and poverty through African Leadership. Africa's future lies in the investment and development of effective, values-based and enlighted African leaders.
I am a young activist, striving for: •Equality within our education system, both the Basic and Higher Education sector•Gender and sex equality•Non-sexist Africa•Zero HIV infections•Zero Gender based violence •Fighting against alcohol and substance abuse•Pushing African Leadership
