Decades working in the media as print, film and video journalism specialising in development and humanitarian disasters led me to senior rolls as media consultant and policy adviser to CEOs of international aid agencies.
I have considerable field experience in a variety of situations having worked in media and development in Africa over many decades in such places as Southern Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Zambia, Kenya, Mozambique, DRC, Rwanda and Ghana.
In Asia I have worked in Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Laos and Indonesia. In the sub continent I have covered humanitarian and development issues and stories in India, Nepal and Bangladesh.
I have been involved in many major media campaigns on HIV and Aids, Land Mines, Child Soldiers and Make Poverty History.
In the Pacific region I worked in PNG on media in Demand Led Governance as well as social issues amongst Maori in New Zealand.
In Australia I have worked most recently on study tours for senior African public servants on Mining For Development Study tours for AusAID, the Australian Government's Overseas Aid Agency.
