I have been a part of the ever-evolving Communications industry for the last 16 years. I have worked closely with organizations from large conglomerates, MNCs, Indian companies to international NGOs. In the last 16 years, I have had the privilege of gaining experience in related fields; Public Relations, Public Advocacy, Marketing Communications, Media Relations, Internal/External Communication, Crisis management/Risk Communications, Issue Management and Online Communications. At present, I am working as a Communications and Media Relations Officer with World Health Organization (United Nations’ specialized agency for health) Country Office for India. I deliberately spent my initial years working with the India’s most successful Public Relation organizations and strategically forayed into the Corporate and Developmental sector to explore and get first-hand experience of the Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) and Communications for Development domain. External relations and brand building have always been an integral part of my portfolio. Knowledge management is a critical component that includes media monitoring, media intelligence, liasoning with working partners, exploring partnership opportunities and managing events and conceptualizing promotional materials/collaterals. Media Relations is my passion and, I strongly believe that it can either make or break. Media relations play an inevitable role in forming of opinions/perceptions and managing brand reputation especially in today’s dynamic work environment and evolving media landscape. My experience spans across multi-verticals. I am result oriented and have analytical, troubleshooting, interpersonal, relationship building and team building skills.
