I am the Activity Manager for the HIV/AIDS Prevention through Abstinence and Healthy Choices for Youth Program. I provide and backstop Program Specialists within OPH (Community Care and Support and Prevention Programs which include youth) in technical, program management, monitoring, reporting and field supervision. I previously supported the Aga Khan Foundation Regional Programme Manager, Regional Programme Officers placed within the East Africa Region in management, implementation, monitoring of country projects including its international management youth internship program. I have managed capacity building and strengthening programs which were grant funded from the pilot phase within two districts and replicated after successful evaluation in ten districts countrywide where Plan International Kenya operates. I mentored a team of ten program officers who successfully coordinated capacity building programs and thereby promoted to steer the development of the first national communication initiative on participation, protection and community development. I will be able to share my skills and lessons learnt in the areas of integrated health programming which includes Youth and OVCs, child rights and participation, capacity enhancement for community based organizations, facilitating trainings, networking, identification and review of partner proposals, monitoring and evaluation, mentoring and grant program administration. I am a qualified Sociologist with an advanced degree in Participation in Development Programs from Middlesex University, UK. My MA research project focused on child participation in development programs. To build my language skills, I am currently taking French lessons at the United Nations Training Centre, Nairobi.
