Currently employed as communications advisor to the Cooperative Committee for Cambodia, an association of 152 Cambodian NGO, based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I have experience in print, broadcast and on-line media and worked for 22 years as a radio and television reporter and producer for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Canada. I also spent 10 years as a journalism tutor, lecturer and course co-ordinator at the school of journalism, University of King's College, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
I have worked as a journalism trainer and as director of a project to promote balanced media coverage of the 2003 national election in Cambodia. I remain engaged in efforts to promote independent news media in this country despite ongoing and substantial political and cultural obstacles.
