My Name is Henry Kabwe. I am a journalist based in Zambia. I started work as a reporter for The Monitor newspaper in 1998 and ended up working for The National Mirror newspaper and the Voice of America (VoA) before becoming Coordinator for the Media Network on Child Rights and Development (MNCRD). I also served as Chairperson of the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Zambia from 2008 to 2010. I am a developmental journalist who focuses on child rights and gender issues. My quest for press freedom is primarily a concern for child participation and women empowerment. I have made presentations in and outside Zambia and have been to various international workshops and conferences including the International AIDS Conference. I have won two awards for Best Reporting in Music and Best Media Coverage in Child Rights.
