Gregory Peterson, MPA/JD
President, Archetype Communications
I am an experienced consultant for Communications and Public Affairs. Over the course of my career, I have served as a Trusted Advisor and “Thinking Partner” for leaders, CEOs and professionals in a variety of fields.
A graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School, I was Project Director at TED Conferences, head of Public Affairs at Biogen, and Director of Communications in a Governor’s Office. I also did marketing and editorial work at Minnesota Public Radio, wrote environmental reports for the State of Minnesota, and was a “media apprentice” at the U.S. Senate in Washington, D.C.
My consulting career has been built on extensive studies in communications, public affairs and law. As recipient of the Bush Leadership Fellowship, I completed the master's degree program at the Harvard Kennedy School. I also completed the “Senior Leadership Program” at the Kennedy School and was a Fellow at the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs. Other specialized studies have included coursework in the Harvard Law School Program On Negotiations, the Harvard Medical School’s “Risk Management & Communications”Program and the joint MIT-Harvard program: “Dealing With An Angry Public,” and many others.
Early in my career, I achieved accreditation (APR + ABC) from both the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). (Not currently active in these organizations.) I also have held memberships in the Public Affairs Council, the World Future Society, the Harvard Club and the Harvard Faculty Club.
