I have extensive research experience working on a variety of projects. I have worked at the University of Michigan Health System with Dr. Cheryl King and the Youth Depression and Suicide Prevention Research Team working on a suicide prevention study that was funded by the CDC. In addition, I worked with Dr. Paul Toro at Wayne State University working on identifying the prevalence of undergraduate homelessness and conducting a needs assessment on the at-risk population. For this study, I submitted a grant from the Office of Undergraduate Research along with protocol and amendment submission to the Internal Review Board. I have interviewed participants for a variety of studies, conducted literature reviews, entered and coded data, and designed PowerPoint slides for research presentations. In addition, I have taken a graduate level course in statistics and am very competent using SPSS.
I became interested in clinical psychology because I have the desire to help inspire change in marginalized populations and hope to positively impact people’s lives. This position would give me world-class research skills to get closer to achieving my career goals.
