As you can ascertain from my Resume, my experience includes the domain of open innovation and applied research in sustainable development. I have worked for over 19 years in information and knowledge management, particularly while I was the Word Agriculture Information System (WAICENT) Manager in FAO.
My experience centers in economic analysis of policy options and impacts for addressing environmental impacts and the relationship with future outcomes, including technological innovation, financial flows and firm using the livelihoods methodological framework, in areas such as the systemic approach that allows the integration of various dimensions (economic, social, environmental, political, financial, institutional) of future development processes in knowledge and information management, poverty reduction, climate change, biodiversity, food security and territorial development.
My current interests center on an Economic-Environmental Future Scenarios Intelligence Platform with explicit geographic reference. I have been leading working groups and the application of policy scenarios methodological framework for understanding the linkages and interactions among economic, environmental, and social processes on all the dimensions of development and applied it to leverage partnerships in support of research initiatives at international levels.
I have also led working groups in the use of dynamic mapping simulation platforms to address challenges that the world is facing for reducing economic and environmental vulnerability linked to livelihoods risk management. I have been applying my systems background in applying the complex systems theory in strategic planning and evaluation, coupled with the development of a mapping intelligence platform using Open Source tools, including SQL, data integration and analysis software like SpagoBI for supporting the participatory process with key stakeholders in the development and application of future scenarios maps. These have the explicit geographic reference of processes, driving forces and policies impacts on economies, environment and livelihoods, enhanced with graphical applications using augmented reality.
My overall aim is to contribute in addressing the challenges in promoting policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world by bringing a more integrated managerial and technical perspective to analyze and direct efforts to address critical issues of organizational adaptation and policies that promote innovation capacity and adaptation on facilitating and supporting the multi-stakeholder process of shaping and operationalizing the sharing experiences on the driving forces of economic, social and environmental change, and working together to seek solutions to common problems.
