I hold a MSc in International Development from the University of Bath, UK. I have since then worked first with the Aga Khan University in Karachi for 5 years and then as Head Academic Administration for a private school in Karachi.
After completing my Masters I have been working for the Aga Khan University, first in the capacity of Planning Officer, Special Projects and then as Assistant Manager at AKU-IED. In my first job I have been actively involved in the planning and implementation of some of the University’s most ambitious and innovative programmes, for example, The Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Human Development Programme, the Examination Board and the Institute for the Studies of Muslim Civilisations in London. In my second job I have been involved in the development of various project proposals for AKU-IED’s programmes in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Eastern Africa. Both jobs have warranted exceptional, documentation, research, project management skills, and the ability to work proactively and independently. Extensive experience in report and paper writing has therefore helped me develop excellent writing and content development skills and can be seen as indicators of my fluency in written English. I have worked directly with the senior management of the University and feedback received from my supervisors has always been extremely positive. In addition, through my experience in rigorous academic and professional environs I have been able to successfully develop excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills.
