Specialist in conflict, policy and advocacy, with over two decades of expertise in public and private sectors. Experience spans strategic communication, international policy, national development and humanitarian operations - from Lebanon and Iraq to Myanmar and Nigeria. Recent career highlights include: development and negotiation of a $2 billion multilateral humanitarian and stabilization agreement for Lebanon in response to the Syria crisis; co-production of recommendations on Arab Spring strategies for the 2012 WEF; development of the UN’s first integrated strategic plan for Iraq and advising the UN in Kosovo on a five-year plan for development and peace consolidation. Author of novel, Ishmael’s Oranges, published worldwide July 2014 and shortlisted for the 2016 JQ Wingate and Authors Club awards. Journalism has appeared in Newsweek, the Sunday Times, the Economist, Granta Magazine and the New Statesman. Inaugural Fellow at the UN Centre for Policy Research.
