I currently manage the implementation of the demonstration project on demand-driven family planning (FP) logistics in all the rural health units in the Province of Cavite, Philippines. I also provide technical assistance in the organization and operations of the Department of Health Family Planning Logistics Hotline. Through this work, I am able to help in reducing stockouts and oversupply, and in making FP commodities available especially to poor women.
I led project teams in the conduct of assessment of FP/public health supply chain as well as for the demo project on scaling up Universal Health Care in the Province of Pangasinan, Philippines. This project was able to reduce unmet need for modern FP of around 2,700 poor women, and was able to assist around 400 poor women to deliver in hospitals and health facilities (instead of the high-risk home deliveries).
I diagnose and troubleshoot problems in public health policies, systems and operations. I develop protocols, test approaches, and build capacities. I recommend policies backed up by evidence and by lessons from actual experience in operations.
