Currently as Discovery Channel Global Education Partnership (DCGEP) DCGEP Program Director and country representative; I took a leadership role in negotiating activities and implementation plans with DCGEP as a donor, in close collaboration with the TILO COP and DCOP. As a Director level staff person, I developed budgets and work plans to be submitted to the donor. In addition, I developed and implemented the TILO-DCGEP project in Egypt. I worked as part of the Technology for Improved Learning Outcomes (TILO- USAID funded project) team and coordinated closely with the DCGEP team in the US to ensure that all program objectives and reporting requirements are met. I was tasked with coordinating a team of educational trainers, managing program implementation at the Ministry of Education and participating schools, guiding a team of subject matter experts at the ministry level to review and make recommendations to DCGEP on videos content. Following the customization processes to the Discovery channel videos with the Discovery channel production team in Egypt and US.
Providing accurate performance updates and communicating project updates to a variety of stakeholders on a regular basis including TILO and DCGEP headquarters, in addition to reporting the partnership activities on quarterly basis for USAID. I was supervised by TILO Chief of Party, I also worked closely and reported regularly on weekly and monthly basis to the US based DCGEP team to ensure that the Egypt program is aligned with DCGEP’s global objectives and requirements with a focus on documenting project’s success stories at the community level.
The partnership was implemented in 126 schools in six Egyptian governorates, my work responsibilities required close follow-up with various management teams at the school and district level. High level management team at the district level used to participate in our training and follow-up cycles in addition to the top high districts team members who were involved in DCGEP schools selection process. Moreover I coordinated the project’s monitoring and evaluation system and implementation in collaboration with TILO and DCGEP evaluation teams.
Travel periodically for extended periods of time was required to spend at schools as part of my work was to provide guidance and support for various school members on different aspects in order to support their activities linked to the overall school improvements plan and the local community, I was also reporting at the district level and the ministry level some schools issues especially the ones facing teachers and principals in order to allow officials to respond to the requests whenever possible. I also helped building capacity of the ministry teams and school members through planning and delivery number training workshops especially sustainability workshops which included introductions on the strategic planning, planning tools and project templates in order to sustain the project at various levels especially at school level.
Previously as an Education Technology Manager in TILO (USAID funded project) my job responsibilities required professional experience of various administrative issues with different stakeholders including public sector presented in involved ministries and private sectors presented in companies on local or international level. My previous training management, my communication skills and my creativity skills in regards to my professional practices were highly required to ease my job. I was responsible for school selection processes of TILO schools in all governorates. I was a part of technology team responsible for gathering a digital resources package can help teachers improve students’ learning located locally or internationally, in addition I was responsible for the creation of the “School Technology advanced Management Plan” (STAMP) collaboratively with TILO COP, STAMP plan was implemented in all TILO schools (over 300 schools) and presented high level of quality as a school support tool when implemented.
Prior as EDP chairman I was responsible for developing the framework and resources assignments in order to comply with time frames and quality standards, in addition to prioritize training activities and establish critical points in the design and development of the project to obtain excellent results, conducting meeting with teams in order to determine their needs, Motivating, leading team and motivating team work, In addition to networking with other NGOs in Egypt in an endeavor to achieve the NGO’s objectives.
Earlier as ATLAS Executive Manager (NGO) I was highly involved in management and implementation between various members in different areas to keep the NGO on track under the supervision of the ATLAS board, writing proposals, budgets, working on fundraising and membership drives in various fields were a main part of responsibilities.
