Expert in social and behavior change, public communication and media advocacy
Possess an interdisciplinary academic background in communication studies, public policy, and international development, with an extensive experience in strategic communication and advocacy.
a) Equipped with 25 years of professional practice in designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating social and behavior change communication interventions for various health and development issues such as HIV prevention, child survival and development, family planning, sexuality education, safe motherhood, gender empowerment, and environmental sanitation.
b) Worked in major development agencies - USAID, UNICEF and UNFPA - at national and international levels developing and managing health communication projects. Currently heads the multi-country social mobilization and media advocacy programme for the reproductive health and development agenda of the United Nations Population Fund, (UNFPA).
c) Has nearly 20 years of full-time and honorary teaching experience in tertiary institutions and professional organisations in Nigeria, Malawi Kenya, and South Africa. Experienced in curriculum development and research supervision.
d) Proficient in training and facilitation techniques and has designed and implemented over 50 training programmes, courses and workshops on social and behavior change communication, media advocacy and strategic partnerships for various target audiences.
