I completed my Bachelors and Masters degree in Psychology from the University of Delhi. My M.A. thesis/dissertation was written on a very pertinent issue with the youth and the larger society in contemporary times that was titled, 'Existential Contours of ‘Quarter Life Crisis’ in a sample of Indian Urban Youth'.
As Programme Executive - New Media to Breakthrough, I managed content for the Bell Bajao site as well as running the campaign on social networking spaces for a year now. For last year's '16 days of Activism', I gathered 16 bloggers to write for the Bell Bajao blog on the theme of violence against women for the global campaign period.
I've also extensively written for the Bell Bajao blog (http://bellbajao.org/author/makepeace/) and about Breakthrough for 'The Alternative' and 'Women's Feature Service', a newswire through which the article was published in several news publications in the country (http://newsblaze.com/story/20101124070652iwfs.nb/topstory.html).
Along with that, I write on a freelance basis for The Alternative, an online publication that covers news and editorial views on campaigns, issues and social development in India.
I've also volunteered with several non profit organizations like Breakthrough, TARSHI (Talking About Reproductive & Sexual Health Issues), Swanchetan and Deepalaya.
My interest lean towards issues related to violence against women, women's rights, gender, sexuality and civil and human rights for the LGBTQ community and racial justice.
