Working with adolescents infected and affected by HIV have been the most exciting thing in my life and challenging at the same time. All the same it has been a wonderful experience so far. I work with a project called "Adolescents Counts Today (ACT).
Adolescents Count Today (ACT) seeks to improve the quality of life of adolescents (aged 10-19 years) living with or affected by HIV in Thika, Nakuru and Eldoret - Kenya. The project aims to improve the sexual and reproductive health and rights of 8000 adolescents (aged 10-19 years) living with or affected by HIV, strengthening care and support for adolescents and their families. The identified families will be empowered economically. The project objective is to provide access to integrated HIV and sexual and reproductive health information and services for adolescents (aged 10-19 years), and empower boys and girls to prevent HIV infection.
My interests to see these young one grow up just like their peers, treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. Have access to treatment care and support. Furnishing them with the right information and supporting their families to prevent new infections that may accur as a result of lack of any of the above.
