Having a strong interest and desire to work in projects in the development area, I am serching for a job in Romania in the development field.
Coming from a Romanian background, I have extensive multi–cultural experiences, primarily in my region of interest; Latin America. My facility in language learning has permitted me to travel and work abroad (I currently speak 6 languages, I have studied in Mexico and England, worked in Venezuela, Italy, Switzerland, Spain and Brazil), and my masters in Social Development has led me towards a humanitarian approach in the working world.
I worked as a volunteer in a Brazilian NGO Casa do Caminho, in the town of Xerem, state of Rio de Janeiro in the Centro Cultural as Language Coordinator.
My duties as Language Coordinator were managing staff, delegating jobs to other volunteers, creating a clear structure for the English department with clear course objectives and lesson Plans for each level, opening new classes, promoting our courses, providing and finding new teaching material, sitting in on lessons and guiding other teachers towards improving their teaching skills.
Besides my duties as coordinator, I gave English and French classes and worked as an educator for the teenage girls in the orphanage. In Venezuela, at the Universidad Central de Venezuela I taught 1st and 3rd year students English, where I had to create a British culture curriculum, write exams and correct papers. Simultaneously, I was teaching French at the Centro Frances, Canadian Embassy and Total Petrol Company giving French lessons.
Currently I am a volunteer in Romania at the AMURTEL Association, teaching English to children at a kindergarten. This has helped me develop my teaching skills for children, I am using a neo-humanist method which concentrates on songs and storytelling for teaching children.
I would like to expand my knowledge and gain more practical experience within UNICEF in Romania, work with project proposals, cultural events and young people/ children and am eger to learn new things. I have sufficient skills in order to help projects progress in a positive way, to bring in innovative ideas and to give a helping hand.
